So I have this list....

For those of you who know me well, you may also know that despite my tendency to be slightly ADD, I am a huge proponent of list making. I think it's just a good way to organize all of my thoughts. Though I have made several lists in my day, my favorite is probably my list of things I would like to do one day. A few of these things are as follows (and are not in any sort of order):

1. See a meteor shower
2. Learn how to surf
3. Learn how to ski
4. Have a fruit tree in my yard once I own a house
5. Ride in a sailboat
6. Go camping out west
7. Go on a mission trip to another country
8. Go to Europe
9. Visit all 50 states
10. See the Northern lights
11. Win something out of a crane machine
12. Go to that place in North Carolina where all the fireflies blink in unison

It's not complete yet and I'm not sure if it ever will be but until then, as long as the ideas keep coming I'll keep writing them.

A Makeshift Worship Service

Well, I did it! I finally made myself a blog. It's always sort of been something I've wanted to do but I've been putting it off for several reasons. One of these is the fact that I won't know what to write about. There are so many choices!! It's taken me about fifteen minutes to decide on whether or not to write about starting a blog, or my day, or any other thing out in the world. The one thing I do know is that I do not want to write about not having anything to write about...so I'm just going to jump right in and see where this goes.

To start things off, today was a fantastic day. It wasn't only because I was actually able to spend a day of Christmas break doing something meaningful but that I spent the afternoon worshiping the Lord with about ten other people in my grade and was able to share and listen to how God has been at work. One of the greatest things about this afternoon was that this whole gathering was coordinated by us. No youth leaders, no parents, just us deciding to sit down and do some good old fashion worshiping in the middle of a park. My friend Emily and I played the guitar and sang and even though I may have given that whole part a disadvantage considering I find it very difficult to keep a beat and sing and strum at the same time (I'm not that great of a multi-tasker). It ended up going really well however and the whole thing was just extremely beautiful.

It's uplifting just to simply worship God with a group of people who are eager to share how he has been at work in their lives. While some of these people will be coming to Auburn with me this next year, I will dearly miss the others I won't be able to see all of the time. I think it's easy to get caught up in thinking about how different life will be without all of our same friends in college but then again, it's also easy (and a lot better) to get caught up in trusting God. That's what I talked about this afternoon at our makeshift worship service. If we could just realize that God is in control and trust him with every aspect of our lives, we have no reason to worry about our futures. I mean, the God of the entire universe is craving for us to trust him and to me, it seems like the smartest thing for us to do would just be to hand over all of our fears and doubts to the one who sees the past, present, and future and wants only the best for those who follow Him.

Romans 8:28 --- And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
